Festival of Media North America Awards 2017 winners revealed

Omnicom Media Group has been named ‘Media Group of the Year’ at the inaugural Festival of Media North America Awards 2017 after an impressive performance across the board at last night’s award ceremony.

PHD Worldwide was crowned ‘Agency Network of the Year’ and Touché! PHD Canada ‘Agency of the Year’ in addition to walking away with the coveted ‘Campaign of the Year’ title for Canadian Safe School Networks’ ‘Bully Ads’.

The winners were announced during a themed awards ceremony on November 30 at the Metropolitan West in New York City.

Festival of Media LatAm Award Winners 2017

Initiative has been awarded 'Agency Network of the Year' and Initiative Argentina 'Agency of the Year' at the Festival of Media LatAm Awards 2017 after winning 17 out of the 22 categories revealed during the 'Dance of the Dead' awards show on October 30 at the Turnberry Isle in Miami, USA. 

As a result of the group's success on the night, IPG Mediabrands walked away with the 'Media Group of the Year' title. 

A total of 56 trophies were given out during the awards show, with the coveted 'Campaign of the Year' awarded to MediaCom Mexico for Victoria's 'Hotel of Legends' alongside five other trophies. 

Proving its regional appeal, the awards saw winners from 11 countries, with Mexico leading the way with 13 wins, followed by Colombia with eight, the US and Argentina with seven each and Brazil with six trophies. 

Chair of the Jury, Daniela Cachich, Marketing Vice-President for PepsiCo Brazil, commented: "It was an honour to be the chair of this year's Festival of Media LatAm Awards. The work has been very inspiring and of a high standard and the jury had very rich and interesting discussions to find the best work of the region."

Festival of Media North America Awards 2017 finalists announced

Finalists for the inaugural Festival of Media North America Awards 2017 have been unveiled with campaigns from PHD, Mindshare, OMD, UM, Zenith, MEC, Maxus, Hearts & Science and J3, among others, in the running for an award.  

Headed by Rob Rakowitz, global media director, Mars, the jury will preside over the best work from brands, media owners and agencies across North America. The winners will be announced in a themed awards ceremony on November 30 at the Metropolitan West in New York City. Guests are invited to a ‘Night Circus’ to network with peers and celebrate the industry’s best work. The evening will also see the winners of the Festival of Media’s Best of 2017 awards, honouring the best campaigns over all the awards editions of 2017 with just five prestigious trophies to be won.

Initiative tops the Festival of Media LatAm Awards 2017 shortlist

IPG's Initiative has come out on top as the best performing agency network on the Festival of Media LatAm Awards 2017 shortlist, with 25 campaigns featured across 13 different categories including Best Communications Strategy, The Effectiveness Award, Best Use of Data and the newly-introduced Best Integrated Campaign.  

MediaCom closely follows with 20 campaigns featured on the shortlist, while OMD Worldwide and UM complete the top four with 10 entries each.  

In terms of geographical breakdown, Mexico leads with 29 shortlisted entries, followed by Argentina with 18, while the US, Brazil and Colombia complete the top five with 15 entries each.  

As the shortlist was announced today (September 20), special praise was given to Initiative Argentina with an impressive 10 shortlisted entries with six campaigns for Unilever. In fact, the FMCG giant dominates the brand count with 16 in total, AB InBev with seven, while Aeroméxico and Grupo Ramos were credited with five entries each. Other brands including The Coca-Cola Company, Mastercard, BMW, Snickers, L’Oreal and LATAM airlines also made the final cut on this year's shortlist. 

More than 35 judges from leading brands, media agencies, specialist companies and media owners evaluated the quality of the campaigns over the last three weeks. The winners will be chosen by a final jury chaired by Daniela Cachich, VP of Marketing for PepsiCo Brazil Foods, and the successful entrants will be revealed at the “Dance of the Dead” awards evening of celebration and entertainment on October 30 during the three day-long Festival of Media LatAm conference taking place from 29-31 October at Turnberry Isle Miami.

MediaCom sweeps up at M&M Global Awards 2017

MediaCom has swept the board at the M&M Global Awards 2017, taking home the golden hat-trick of Grand Prix Awards at a glittering awards ceremony held last night (Thurs 7th Sept) at The British Museum in London, under the new Blue Whale structure Hope.

The agency's 'Bachelor of Shaving' campaign for Gillette was awarded 'Campaign of the Year', while MediaCom also scooped the coveted 'Agency of the Year' for its UK office - for the third consecutive year - and the 'Agency Network of the Year' titles for winning campaigns from India, Germany, Singapore and the UK and seven trophies for six unique campaigns. 

The final Grand Prix of the evening, 'International Advertiser of the Year', was awarded to Expedia Group as two of its brands picked up three trophies. 

While MediaCom showed an outstanding overall performance, 20 unique campaigns in total were awarded. Other big winners on the night include PHD with four awards from its US and China offices, and Blue449 taking home two.

MediaCom and P&G dominate M&M Global Awards shortlist for 2017

MediaCom is leading the charge for agency networks with 31 shortlisted entries for the M&M Global Awards 2017, while Proctor & Gamble tops the global advertisers list with 10. 

Other stand out agency networks in the shortlist for this year's awards, which celebrates the world's best multi-market media and marketing campaigns, include PHD Worldwide, Starcom and MEC with 14, 13 and 10 entries, respectively. 

Key brands with multiple shortlisted entries include Nestle, Unilever, Deutsche Telecom, Expedia and Shell.

Entries open for the Festival of Media North America Awards

The Festival of Media Awards, a platform for celebrating innovation and creativity, is setting sail to North American shores with the launch of a dedicated awards programme for the best media campaigns from Canada and the US.

The Festival of Media North America Awards is open for entries from all those involved in media, advertising and communication and winners will be announced in December 2017 in New York, USA.

Less than 2 weeks left to enter Festival of Media LatAm Awards 2017

The Festival of Media LatAm Awards 2017 entry deadline has been extended until Thursday 27th July so if you haven’t entered your work yet, then what are you waiting for…

The Festival of Media LatAm Awards are all about celebrating innovation and creativity in the region. Categories are divided into the awards’ four key pillars: Media | Content | Technology | Insight.

Eight new categories have been introduced this year including Best Use of Real-time Marketing, Best Sponsorship Activation, Best Integrated Campaign, Best Use of Ambient Media and Best Campaign for a Local Brand, Content Creator Award, Best Use of New Technology and Effective Use of E-commerce.
