MediaCom sweeps up at M&M Global Awards 2017


MediaCom has swept the board at the M&M Global Awards 2017, taking home the golden hat-trick of Grand Prix Awards at a glittering awards ceremony held last night (Thurs 7th Sept) at The British Museum in London, under the new Blue Whale structure Hope.

The agency's 'Bachelor of Shaving' campaign for Gillette was awarded 'Campaign of the Year', while MediaCom also scooped the coveted 'Agency of the Year' for its UK office - for the third consecutive year - and the 'Agency Network of the Year' titles for winning campaigns from India, Germany, Singapore and the UK and seven trophies for six unique campaigns. 

The final Grand Prix of the evening, 'International Advertiser of the Year', was awarded to Expedia Group as two of its brands picked up three trophies. 

While MediaCom showed an outstanding overall performance, 20 unique campaigns in total were awarded. Other big winners on the night include PHD with four awards from its US and China offices, and Blue449 taking home two.

MediaCom and P&G dominate M&M Global Awards shortlist for 2017


MediaCom is leading the charge for agency networks with 31 shortlisted entries for the M&M Global Awards 2017, while Proctor & Gamble tops the global advertisers list with 10. 

Other stand out agency networks in the shortlist for this year's awards, which celebrates the world's best multi-market media and marketing campaigns, include PHD Worldwide, Starcom and MEC with 14, 13 and 10 entries, respectively. 

Key brands with multiple shortlisted entries include Nestle, Unilever, Deutsche Telecom, Expedia and Shell.

Entries open for the Festival of Media North America Awards


The Festival of Media Awards, a platform for celebrating innovation and creativity, is setting sail to North American shores with the launch of a dedicated awards programme for the best media campaigns from Canada and the US.

The Festival of Media North America Awards is open for entries from all those involved in media, advertising and communication and winners will be announced in December 2017 in New York, USA.

Less than 2 weeks left to enter Festival of Media LatAm Awards 2017

The Festival of Media LatAm Awards 2017 entry deadline has been extended until Thursday 27th July so if you haven’t entered your work yet, then what are you waiting for…

The Festival of Media LatAm Awards are all about celebrating innovation and creativity in the region. Categories are divided into the awards’ four key pillars: Media | Content | Technology | Insight.

Eight new categories have been introduced this year including Best Use of Real-time Marketing, Best Sponsorship Activation, Best Integrated Campaign, Best Use of Ambient Media and Best Campaign for a Local Brand, Content Creator Award, Best Use of New Technology and Effective Use of E-commerce.

MMG Awards 2017: What does it take to win 'Campaign of the Year'?

"The feeling of winning global awards and recognition from global client teams is euphoric" said Deepak Sonpar, Associate Director at MediaCom India on how it felt to be the recipient of last year's MMG Grand Prix 'Campaign of the Year' Award for Ariel's 'Removing the Stains of Inequality'. 

So what does it really take to become a Grand Prix winner at the M&M Global Awards?  

M&M Global recently spoke with Sonpar to find out what learnings, hints and tips other entrants can learn from last year's winner to help craft their entries into a potential winner in 2017.

Festival of Media Global Awards 2017 Winners

MediaCom emerged victorious at the Festival of Media Global Awards 2017 after winning six gold trophies and walking away with the coveted 'Agency Network of the Year' Award and 'Campaign of the Year' for NHS Blood & Transplant's 'Missing Type' campaign. Furthermore, the agency's parent company GroupM won 'Media Group of the Year'.

Other big winners of the night include Touché! PHD, who scooped the 'Agency of the Year' gong, along with Mediaplus, who was crowned 'Independent Agency of the Year' after winning Gold for its 'WhatsGerman' and 'The Fashion Mag Hijack' campaigns. 

OMD also posted an impressive performance, picking up six golds for winning campaigns including 'End the Silence' and 'Capacity Based McDelivery'.

This year's winners list proves the global appeal of the awards scheme with campaigns represented from a range of countries including New Zealand, Mexico, Israel, Costa Rica, Norway, Singapore, South Africa and the Dominican Republic. 

The final jury was split across two judging rooms, chaired by Sarah Mansfield, VP Global Media Europe and Americas at Unilever and Gerry D'Angelo, Global Media Director at P&G. The winners were announced last night (Mon 8th May) at the Rome Cavalieri.

Festival of Media MENA Awards 2017 winners

'MAGGI Diaries – The Power To Make A Difference' by MEC MENA has been crowned 'Campaign of the Year' at the Festival of Media MENA Awards 2017, as well as winning Gold for 'Best Communications Strategy', 'Best Use of Content' and 'Best Branded Content Creation' and Bronze accolades for 'Best Event/Experiential Campaign' and 'Best Use of Video'.  

'Agency Network of the Year' was awarded to Starcom, who collected nine trophies across its UAE and Egyptian offices. Meanwhile, OMD UAE picked up 'Agency of the Year' with 11 awards under its belt including Gold for 'Best Use of Traditional Media' and 'Best Use of Technology'. 

The awards took place on April 26 at the Music Hall in Zabeel Saray, The Palm Jumeirah in Dubai during the Festival of Media MENA 2017.
