Ariel 'Removing the Stains of Social Inequality' crowned Campaign of the Year at M&M Global Awards 2016

Ariel's 'Removing the Stains of Social Inequality' campaign, which encouraged men to share the traditionally female chore of washing, has been crowned 'Campaign of the Year' at this year's M&M Global Awards. The campaign, by MediaCom, won every category it was entered for: Best Use of Content, B2C Campaign of the Year, Best Multiplatform Campaign and The International Effectiveness Award. 

At the same time, MediaCom took home the coveted 'Agency of the Year' title for the second year running, along with nine other awards across the board including Best Local Execution of a Global Brand, Best Use of Content, Best Use of Social Media, B2C Campaign of the Year, Best Creative Use of Technology, Best Multiplatform Campaign, Best Use of an Influencer, Innovative Use of Publisher Platform and The International Effectiveness Award. 

OMD scooped four awards including Best Partnership Award, Best International Growth Strategy, The Smart Use of Data Award and Best Targeted Campaign. 

The Grand Prix Awards saw Viacom walk away with International Media Brand of the Year, while Unilever was awarded International Advertiser of the Year.

MediaCom tops the Festival of Media LatAm Awards 2016 shortlist

MediaCom has stormed ahead on the Festival of Media LatAm Awards 2016 shortlist, with a total of 24 campaigns shortlisted across 13 different categories, including Best Communications Strategy, The Effectiveness Award, Best Social Media Campaign and the newly-introduced Best Use of an Influencer. OMD follows with 15 entries and Initiative hot on its tail with 14.  

Campaigns run in Argentina dominate this year's shortlist, while Brazil and Colombia come in joint second place. The competition represents work from a wide range of advertisers including BBVA, The Coca-Cola Company, Diageo, Grupo Ramos, Procter & Gamble, Unilever, VISA and Volkswagen. 

The quality of campaigns has been evaluated by more than 40 judges from leading brands, media agencies, specialist companies and media owners. The final jury is being chaired by Jennelle Tilling, CMO for KFC Global. Click here for more information about this year's judges and the awards scheme.

OMD leads M&M Global Awards 2016 shortlist

OMD has achieved the highest number of entries on this year's M&M Global Awards shortlist, with a total of 35 nominations across 16 categories. MediaCom and MEC follow in second and third place, respectively.  

The top performing campaigns to feature on the shortlist include Double Robotics' 'Lucy the Robot' by independent agency Atomic 212 and Deutsche Telekom's 'Sea Hero Quest' from MediaCom.  

Now in its 27th year, the M&M Global Awards celebrate the best multi-market media campaigns from around the world. Reflecting the ever-changing and multifaceted global media landscape, the 2016 awards include seven new categories – Best Multiplatform Campaign, Best Use of an Influencer, Innovative Use of a Publishing Platform, Best Use of Creative Technology, Best international Growth Strategy, B2C Campaign of the Year and The Talent Award. 

“This year’s awards attracted a record number of entries, underlining the importance of international media and campaign excellence across multiple markets,” said Danielle Redwood, managing director for awards at C Squared. “Only the M&M Global Awards recognise the best in international media, and the gala dinner event promises to be another unforgettable night for the industry.”

KFC Global CMO to chair Festival of Media LatAm Awards 2016 (+ our top KFC case studies)

Kfc cmoThe Festival of Media is delighted to welcome Jennelle Tilling, Chief Marketing Officer for KFC Global, as the chair of the jury for this year’s Festival of Media LatAm Awards 2016.

With responsibility for KFC’s brand marketing, innovation, digital presence and brand reputation in over 125 countries around the world, Tilling will oversee the final stage of the awards judging, which celebrates the best in media thinking across the Latin American region.

Other members of the shortlisting and final jury include: Jean Charles Cabrol, Managing Director at PHD Mexico; Patricia Martinez, Managing Director, OMD Mexico; Jose Daniel Salazar, Senior Brand Manager, Nestle Venezuela; and Luis Ruben Ortiz, Portfolio & Brand Strategy Director LatAm, SABMiller, among others.

For 2016, the Festival of Media Awards is expanding the scope of work that can be rewarded. There are now 20 award categories, split into five sections including Media, Content, Technology, Insight and Talent.

Vodafone's 'Sunday Grannies' crowned Campaign of the Year at Festival of Media Global Awards 2016

UM Romania was among the top winners at the Festival of Media Global Awards 2016, taking home the Agency of the Year Award after winning Gold, Silver and Bronze trophies across seven categories, in addition to the highly coveted Campaign of the Year trophy for its Vodafone campaign ‘Sunday Grannies’. 

Agency Network of the Year was awarded to OMD, having collected a total of 11 trophies across six offices representing eight different brands.   

Outside the big media agencies, Atomic 212, an independent full service media agency, based in Australia won a Silver in the Best Launch category while the creative agency DPZ&T won Bronze in the newly introduced category D’Atlas Brand Purpose Award sponsored by Discovery Communications.

OMD scoops ‘Agency Network of the Year’ at Festival of Media MENA Awards 2016

OMD has won the coveted ‘Agency Network of the Year’ title at this year’s Festival of Media MENA Awards, after picking up 11 trophies across its UAE and Egypt offices, representing nine different brands across nine categories.

The agency network’s most notable performance was in the ‘Best Launch Campaign’ category where it had a full sweep, picking up Gold, Silver and Bronze for Cheetos, Sting and Lay’s, respectively.

MEC MENA scooped the ‘Agency of the Year’ award, in addition to ‘Campaign of the Year’ for ‘MAGGI Diaries – A Journey of Women, Food & Change’ – which walked away with Gold, Silver and Bronze across a range of categories.

The Festival of Media MENA Awards ceremony, held on April 20 at the Music Hall in Dubai, celebrated the best in media thinking and communications across the MENA region. Judged by a senior panel of agency heads and global and regional brand marketers, the prestigious event rewards the very best work, helping the winning agencies and media owners win new business and increased influence in the marketplace.

MediaCom the front runner on Festival of Media Global Awards 2016 shortlist

MediaCom leads the shortlist for this year's Festival of Media Global Awards with 19 campaigns shortlisted across 17 categories – a total of 35 nominations. Hot on the agency's heels is OMD and PHD in joint second place with 28 nominations apiece. 

'100% Kosher Head & Shoulders' (MediaCom Israel for P&G's Head & Shoulders), 'Sunday Grannies' (UM Romania for Vodafone) and 'Lucy the Robot' (Atomic 212 in Australia for Double Robotics) are this year's top shortlisted campaigns, with five nominations each. 

The top five markets on the shortlist include the UK, US, Australia and India, followed by Romania with an impressive representation in nine categories. A number of independent agencies also made their stamp on this year's shortlist with Chaos Media, Mediaplus, Madison Media and Atomic 212 represented.  

The Festival of Media Global Awards celebrate the very best in media thinking from around the world. Four new categories were introduced this year including the D'Atlas Brand Purpose Award in partnership with Discovery Communications, Best Campaign for Commerce, The Best Insight Award and Best Not-For-Profit Campaign.  

The winners will be decided by the Festival of Media Global Awards final jury, presided over by Allan Soares, Harley Procter Brand Director, P&G, and will be announced on Thursday 19 May as part of the Festival of Media Global conference at the Rome Cavalieri in Rome, Italy. Mindshare sweeps the board at Festival of Media APAC Awards 2016

Mindshare has taken the crown as 'Agency Network of the Year' at this year's Festival of Media Asia-Pacific Awards, with a total of 12 winning entries across the board. The majority of those campaigns were implemented by Mindshare India, earning the local office the 'Agency of the Year' title. 

'How we used programmatic to develop content and reach millennials to get them fired up for KFC's Hot and Cheezy Burger!' from Universal McCann earned the 'Campaign of the Year' accolade, in addition to Gold for 'Best Use of Video', Silver for 'Best Targeted Campaign' and 'The Smart Use of Data Award'. 

New for 2016, the Festival of Media Asia Pacific Awards partnered with Twitter to introduce a new category: "Twitter Live Marketing" to reflect the increasing importance and speed of marketing communications in our industry. The Gold winner in this category was 'When Google Maps went beyond giving directions to people. It unlocked a treasure. Thanks to Lay's' by Mindshare India, Silver went to 'Pepsi's Pre-emptive strike on social media', also by Mindshare India, and taking Bronze was 'McDonald's Beat the Mayweather' by Leo Burnett Manila.
