Top 5 Halloween Ad Campaigns
Traditionally Halloween is a huge event in the US, but more and more countries globally are getting involved, particularly the UK (where it's become nearly as big as it is across the Atlantic), Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Here is our pick of the most scary ad campaigns for Halloween, but comment below with your favourite Halloween advertisements.
1. Little Caesars - Forbidden Pizza (US | 2012)
Last year, US take-away pizza chain Little Caesars ran a campaign whereby visitors to http://www.forbiddenpizzawebsite.com/ were scared witless by a voice telling them not to enter their address and try to order pizza. The upshot was that once they had entered their address and hit the button next to it marked 'DON'T CLICK THIS', they were greeted with a message that their house was now haunted. The way to unhaunt their house? Go to a local Little Caesars, order a pizza, bring it back and click 'UNHAUNT'.

2. Simba - Possessed Vending Machines (South Africa | 2006)
In 2006, South African snacks company Simba launched a Halloween campaign in which they planted a series of 'possessed' vending machines in various colleges around the country. When a person got close to the machine, a motion sensor would trigger the machine to shake as if possessed, then a creepy girl's voice encouraged the person to buy Ghost Pops. If a person did buy the product, the glass at the front of the vending machine would steam up, revealing the word "Thanks", accompanied by a smiley face.

3. Crest and Oral B - Halloween without Candy (US | 2013)
Crest and Oral B have decided to introduce a variety of healthy Halloween candies to children in the US in favour of their usual sugary treats for this year's TV/video campaign. The results are hilarious and, well, disgusting with a mini revolt from the kids over the lack of normal candy and a bit of, er, well you can see for yourself here.
4. Cadbury - Screme Egg (Canada|2012)
Last year Cadbury decided to launch this cute, slimy ad in Canada along with two others. Cracking stuff (sorry).
5. Booking.com - Haunted Hotels (US | 2013)
This year's US campaign from hotel site Booking.com has a great Halloween theme. Focusing on a selection of hotels in the US that you can book through the website which are all supposedly haunted, the campaign has its own website at booking.com/haunted. On the site there are little blurb sections with information on each hotel's ghostly credentials with the option to 'STAY IF YOU DARE'.
