Just say yes?
Vicente Fox's speech was one of the landmark moments at the Festival of Media LatAm. During his presentation, the former president of Coca-Cola (and er... Mexico) prevailed upon the media industry to get involved in the "war on drugs" and call for the de-criminalisation of narcotics. As far as Fox is concerned, the only party to suffer in the drugs war has been Mexico, which has become a no-go area for foreign investment as the areas of the country are reduced to a war zone.
Many people have previously argued for the decriminalisation of drugs. Fox advocates education over punishment, which is an astonishingly forward thinking statement for a politician to make, albeit a former one.
