Our relationship with digital and the New York Times
So Tumblr has launched a new content project called 'Storyboard'. Billed as “tales from behind the dashboard”, the series will follow various members of the Tumblr community.
These could be anyone from performers to artists, comedians to scientists. The idea is to release one story a day, to inspire more indepth conversations within the community.
“We could never possibly tell everyone’s story, even if we told 100 stories a day,” Tumblr Editor-in-Chief Chris Mohney said in a video post via Storyboard.Tumblr.com. “But we can help bring people to light that one sector of the community may never encounter through their natural organic reading of Tumblr.”
This recent addition to the series, 'The Lively Morgue' is a short documentary about the photo archive at The New York Times. While this might not sound very exciting, the five minute film poses some interesting questions about our relationships with physical and digital memories – as well as conjuring up some of the magic of the newspaper industry form a bygone age. Highly recommended.
