Have you ‘scratched’ on social media yet?

After ‘Like’, ‘Tweet’ and ‘Share’, the new buzzword on social media might just be ‘Scratch’. Ad agency Saatchi Tel Aviv has rolled out an exciting social media game for mobile phones. The app is called ‘ScratchMatch’, which was developed after an internal contest in the agency, about ideas for mobile applications.
It works like this: you can play it with a friend on some social network, or any random player. You'll be prompted to choose between taking a picture with your smartphone, choose from your existing library or from the app's custom album. Then, you will be asked to name the photo and send it to a friend. Your photo will be sent to your opponent in the form of a scratch card, and they will then have to guess what hides behind it, by scratching off the covering layer. Your friend has to guess what the photo is with the minimum scratching to gain the highest score. Also, your winning points can be converted into fun features in the game, including hints and photos.
If this app is successful, the agency will split the profits with the employees who came up with the idea. There is a possibility of the agency launching more such apps this year.
