Nando's out-dazzles Bruno at premiere

I'm not quite sure what the brand-relevance is, but Nando's pulled off an impressive PR stunt with the hijacking of the Bruno premiere in Sydney. The Bruno look-a-like turned up in a pink stretched hummer, flanked by a bevvy of semi-clad men and women. It was only once he had been shouting about the merits of Peri-Peri for a few minutes that officials cottoned on an dragged him off the podium.

Is this campaign really aimed at women?

It's supposed to target 20-30 year old women, but Wonderbra'slatest campaign for its "Ultimate Strapless" bra is more likely to attract men of all ages. The bra uses a special hand-shaped support structure to ensure that it doesn't end up round your waist by the end of the evening, like most strapless bras do.

In order to prove how effective the bra is, Wonderbra has created a wank-bank of videos featuring a model jumping around in her underwear. The idea is to prove that no matter how big the shapes you throw on the dancefloor are, your bra will stay put. You can watch the "wiggle", the "twist" and the "jump" to see how many times the model needs to hoik up her bra. You can also upload your own video of yourself jumping around in your underwear - but given how gorgeous the girl in the official videos is, I wouldn't recommend it as being a great boost to the self-esteem.

The strapline "sure to stay up as long as you do" might as well refer to the men watching as opposed to the bra.

Celebrity endorsements don't come better than this

Many brands have tried to capitalise on Obamania by incorporating content relating to the new US President in their marketing campaigns, but most of them don't have official approval from the White House.

The FT, however, has been given approval to use a quotation from an interview with Obama in one of its ads. The quote is: "I read the Financial Times before other people. Now everybody carries around a Financial Times."

I'd say that was a fairly solid endorsement, wouldn't you?

Is the web the boss of you?

Or are you the boss of the web? Nokia has launched a campaign - Online as it happens - that makes the internet work for you. You get to design your own widget that monitors what you are interested in and alerts you when there is something relevant you'd like to know about.

In the explanatory video it suggests getting a "meat alphabet to spell out what that blog you never remember to visit is talking about". Probably not advisable for vegetarians. But sure to be a hit with Diesel's Pete the Meat Puppet.

I have created a widget with a monkey that claps faster the more the word "sausages" is mentioned.

Inject some inspiration into your search results

Text-based search results are hardly inspiring, but Spezify is a search tool that offers a refreshingly visual search experience.

It mixes all media types including blogs, videos and images all presented in a visual tapestry to get the creative juices flowing.

It’s certainly good for discoverability - you will probably not find something you are looking for, but you are very likely to find something you never knew you wanted!

Spezify was founded by Felix af Ekenstam and Per Persson who have more than 10 years experience within the creative digital industry.

Someone should get fired for this

While I realise that the creation of a joint venture between Nigeria's state operated energy company NNPC and the Russian Gazprom lends itself well in theory to the pleases-both-parties brand "Nigaz", surely a bit of a straw poll might have revealed it to have negative connotations in many countries.

Even Google was trying to tell them something:

Nigaz

The story of 100,000 condoms

Aids prevention charity Lafa is giving away 100,000 condoms in Stockholm over the summer to encourage safe sex. Each of the condoms carries a unique number, and people are encouraged to upload a story outlining how their condom was used. The idea is to provide more of an overview of the circumstances of a liaison as opposed to the nitty gritty of applying latex to flesh, but clearly this is open to the interpretation of the user!

Quite Interesting Twitter project

Top Twitterer Stephen Fry’s tweets can now be viewed as illustrations. Artist Morgan Ritchie set himself the arduous task of producing 100 drawings in as many days, based purely on the QI host’s tweets. And he’s been as good as his word… or should that be Fry’s. His intricate illustrations draw us into the Walter Mitty world of the great man’s brain. A true case of life imitating art imitating life… a topic that would, no doubt, be at home amongst the whimsical conundrums of QI.
