AR Loves Hallmark

Augmented Reality is attracting a lot of headlines at the moment and rightly so, if you start thinking about what's now possible and what this will turn into in the future. It's indistinguishable from magic, to paraphrase Arthur C Clarke.

Take this idea from the greetings card giant, Hallmark. You buy a Valentine's Day card from them, which looks like a fairly normal card. Your Best Beloved looks at it on their computer screen via their Webcam and lo and behold cute (OK, too cute!) characters come to life in 3D and do a little song+dance routine celebrating your love on the card.

I think you have to see it to believe it.

Clever idea, but I hope I never receive a card like this - as if Moonpig wasn't bad enough already!
