Green screen invasion

We can usually tell when a film scene calls for green screen, right? The superhero movies, the huge disaster movies. But what about Ugly Betty and the mundane scenes of her walking out of a building or along her street.

I for one am pretty stunned by this video which highlights how often the technique is used:

Perhaps soon they won't bother filming in cities. Why not film everything in a studio and paste in the world behind it?
