Am having a brilliant time on holiday. Please burgle me.
The unstoppable march of Facebook on every aspect of our lives continues. Now the social networking site has become a popular resource for burglars and thieves everywhere, according to the British tabloid paper, The Sun.
Apparently, in the good old days, ordinary decent criminals would bribe a local milkman or paper boy to find out which local houses were empty with the owners away on holiday. Unfortunately, hapless holiday makers are updating their Twitter feeds and Facebook pages with news of their exploits abroad, much to the delight of today's internet savvy criminal.
To combat this latest trend, I've had a brilliant business idea - profile sitting. Similar to house sitting, holiday makers could pay a "sitter" to take over their various social network profiles and make them look active - and at home! If anyone wants to develop an "auto-update" Facebook application, and split the profits, just let me know.
