German pillow fights and a guide to air stewardesses
Not that I'm one to pander to national stereotypes, but it has to be said that the Germans don't have much of a reputation for being a jovial bunch. Frankly, when you've part of the fourth largest economy in the world, I doubt there's much time for messing about.
Unless of course you work for Lufthansa.
It's well known that cabin crew generally personify the philosophy of the airline. British Airways crew are often regarded as haughty and stuck up, Virgin crew are glamorous and friendly, and Easyjet crew are - er... well you get the idea.
So it might come as a surprise to see this footage of a Lufthansa stewardess engaging her economy passengers in a friendly pillow fight in the cabin - much to the delight of all on board. Now you might think that this unilateral act of spontaneity would be met with stern disapproval from Lufthansa HQ, especially when the footage turned up on YouTube - but as it turns out the airline was very pleased.
As far as they were concerned, the clip showed passengers enjoying themselves in economy class, and demonstrated that Lufthansa carry enough pillows for all their passengers.
And in case any of you haven't seen Pam Ann's guide to cabin crew from around the world, have a look at this. (My favourite is the Spanish stewardess, "Fanta! Fanta!"
