Cream investigates online video.
We all love a daft YouTube video, but how come some are more popular than others? Every brand dreams of a video going viral and generating massive amounts of earned media. But when the creative agency assure you that your new clip will "fly", how can they accurately predict such a thing?
The truth is, they can't. Nobody can. Successful video strategy is probably down to 60% content, 40% luck. Feel free to argue that stat - I love a good debate. What is true is that people who aim to make a viral video are starting off on very shaky ground. Good quality content should be the first consideration, then all other objectives will fall into place.
