A new chapter for Festival of Media
Key Biscayne, Miami is an idyllic place. Opulent hotels and beach resorts sit back on white sandy beaches overlooking the ocean. Seven miles long and barely two miles across at its widest point, any hotel room above the third floor guarantees a view of either the Atlantic or the Biscayne Bay. Joined to the mainland by the five mile long Rickenbacker Causeway, the high rise buildings of downtown Miami are the only interruption to the horizon.
The Miami of today is a far cry from the pastel suited consumer driven metropolis of the 1980s, where Crockett and Tubbs kept the peace, and the Miami Sound Machine encouraged us to do the Conga. As the drug barons moved out or got caught, no-go areas became affluent addresses and the city has become a destination for a number of annual global conferences.
Hurricane Richard mercifully decided skip Miami, and head instead to Belize. Average temperatures for the week are set to hover in the high 80s – positively chilly compared to the temperature of the judging room for the Campaign of the Year award as jurors debated and scrutinised Latin media innovation.
With the weather onside, a stunning location in place, Festival of Media LatAm looks all set to exceed all expectations of attending delegates and speakers.

You may remenber the four proverbs:
Nothing seek, nothing find.
Not to advance is to go back.
Nothing is so necessary for travelers as languages.
Not to know what happened before one was born is always to be a child.
