X-Factor for the cavity generation

Do you have any physical defects that you are really embarrassed about? Well why don't you upload a video of yourself showing off said defect and explaining why it makes your life hell?

That seems to be the premise of My Smile Bites, a smile makeover contest that offers participants the change to win a $30,000 dental makeover, organised by dentist listings service 1-800-Dentist. The rules stipulate the entrants must state why they want their makeover and must include a close up shot of their teeth and perceived problem areas. They are encouraged to state how their problem mouth makes them feel and how it affects their life.

"Make us laugh, make us cry, make us feel for you!"

I feel really uncomfortable about this sort of thing. It's one step away from asking people with cancer but with no health insurance to show off their tumours for the chance to receive a round of chemotherapy.
